WHAT IS CMA?

  • Christian Motorcyclists Association is an international organization with the vision to change the world, one heart at a time.
  • CMA is an international ministry, serving in over 18 countries worldwide (with an additional 6 that are in the forming stages),  that takes the Gospel of Jesus Christ to bikers and befriends all.
  • CMA is a non-profit, interdenominational organization, dedicated to reaching people for Christ in the highways and byways through motorcycling.
  • CMA is not a club, but a ministry.

The Christian Motorcyclists Association New Zealand was formed in 2006 by a group of individual riders with a passion for motorcycling and a passion for serving Jesus Christ.
Their vision was to provide an organization that met, not only for social gatherings and rides, but would also provide spiritual encouragement for Christian Motorcyclists to fulfil the great commission as set out by Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20.  “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

CMA's primary function is to show motorcyclists the way to Christ. Jesus said "Follow Me and I will make you fishers of men" Mark 1:17. The motorcycles and activities are used as bait to fish for men.  We ride as followers of Jesus in order to win others to Him. This idea is stated in our Motto - "Riding for the Son". The idea is to present Jesus relevant to the present day motorcycling society without compromise. Compromise will kill our witness.

Our second goal is to encourage fellowship amongst Christian motorcyclists, each  a motorcycle chapter with activities that are wholesome.

Thirdly we are instructed to teach or disciple (Matthew 28:20) our converts. This is done through Bible Study courses, seminars, Christian rallies and practical application through outreach.

WHAT CMA ASKS OF YOU

The requirement to join CMA is that you have a personal relationship with God through the death, burial and Resurrection of His only Son Jesus Christ.  Being undeniably changed and being committed to being a "God pleaser" is the way we encourage people to live. CMA is not about religious rules but about being “sold out” to Jesus!

Our desire is to develop workers in God's Kingdom. We ask for faithful, trustworthy believers who are willing to count the cost of real commitment to Ride with us.

Each colour wearing member of CMA is required to be able to share his or her faith on a personal one to one basis. We require that our riders do a riding skills course run by BRONZ (Ride Right Ride Safe) or equivalent.

Membership is renewable annually and the membership fee entitles each member to a  newsletter, details of what’s happening in the Christian biker scene and the right to take part in the Annual General Meetings.
